Secretary of State Decision on Hawthorns/Barnes Appeal

The Secretary of State for Local Government and Communities has today published his decision re the Hawthorns/Barnes Planning Appeal.  He agreed with the report produced by the Planning Inspector following the Public Inquiry, and the appeal has been dismissed.

The main reasons for dismissal are the effect on the Conservation Area and the reduction in the number and quality of trees.

The University have the right to appeal to the High Court if they wish to.
