Following a recent meeting of the parliamentary High Speed Rail (West Midlands – Crewe) Bill Select Committee, it has been decided that the much contested Railhead, initially intended for Stone, will not be moved to Aldersley’s Rough, which is just south of Keele on the outskirts of Madeley Heath. This is good news for Keele.
However, the committee also decided to reject the option of placing the entire Whitmore to Madeley Heath section in a single tunnel.
