Doctors and NHS managers in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire would like you to invite you to have your say on our proposals for My Care, My Way – Home First, an initiative which aims to prevent people from staying in hospital longer than they need to and will enable them to be treated in the comfort of their own homes.
Historically, healthcare services in Northern Staffordshire have been based around beds with too many patients admitted to hospital, when they could have stayed at home and been treated in the community, retaining the independence people often lose during an extended hospital stay.
We believe My Care, My Way – Home First will allow us to increase the provision of more intensive care within people’s homes and enable us to ensure patients who can be treated within the community without the need for a hospital admission will be able to access high quality and timely care when required.
We would like to invite you along to our public events where you will have the opportunity to find out more and share your views on the plans.
